The deadlift is about as basic as you can get.  It is about picking stuff up off the floor.  Hard to get through life without doing this.

And yet many trainers avoid this lift as if it were optional.

Too dangerous?  Then how do you pick up your groceries?  Your suitcases?  Your laundry?  The garbage?  Your kids?

Life is going to require you to pick things up.  Wouldn’t you like to know how to do this correctly?  Wouldn’t you like to develop some strength in this functional range of motion?

Injury = poor mechanics + lack of preparation.  Learn correct technique and develop the requisite strength and you’ll be able to navigate life’s obstacle course safely.
